Story Behind the Song
This was recorded in Spring of '97 as homework for my MUSI 3500 class (Intro To Synthesized Computer Music). This was sequenced out with MOTU Digital Performer and a Kurzweil PC-88-MX. I had always wanted to do a good version of this song so I did. The proper name for this song is "The Magic Meadow" and it is from the Sierra game Hero's Quest I: So You Wanna Be A Hero? (a.k.a. Quest for Glory I: So You Wanna Be A Hero?). I was REALLY happy with the extra harmony during the repeat of the B section. One problem though. I didn't get a recording of this until the very end of the class. It was done using SoundEdit 16 on an old nasty Mac Quadra. Unfortunately, when I recorded it, I just played back the beginning to check the recording level, lack of distortion, etc. I didn't realize until later that there were a few large skips in the file. And I didn't have an opportunity to record it again. In June of '99, I finally got around to fixing up the song with Cool Edit so it didn't skip (using the fact that it repeats to my advantage).

I guess this song is finally finished.
